After Carmelo Bene
A colloquium in tribute to Carmelo Bene - actor stage director, author and movie director - will take place on the 8th, 9th, 12th January 2013, in Paris.
Away from any commemorative celebration, the colloquium presents itself as a laboratory of reflection dealing with the issues of Carmelo Bene's research in the fields of theatrical theory and practice.
During the different sessions of discussion, stress will be laid on the voice in its connections with the text, the body and the visible, along with the unprecedented role played by the sound technologies. The professors’ reflections will enter into dialogue with the words and experiences of artists and technicians who collaborated with Carmelo Bene. As part of the colloquium, a series of short performances will be presented. On the 8th January, at the National Superior Academy for Drama, Silvia Pasello and Ares Tavolazzy will propose a musical tribute and Georges Lavaudant will present the work of the students of the Carmelo Bene’s workshop. Finaly, a large space will be dedicated to the diffusion of audiovisual documents: a movie by Mario Masini et Marcello Tacconelli and a documentary by Luisa Viglietti will be presented on the 9th January at the INHA ; and the colloquium will end with the screening of a performance by Carmelo Bene, Pinocchio, on the 12th January at the Cinéma le Panthéon.
